Q: Are you a sole-proprietorship?
A: No! We're a limited liability company, on the path to becoming a B Corp. However, we're mostly privately held right now. We have 20% of equity carved out for an employee pool; and some options allocated to an advisory board. But we're still in the early phases of conversion, so most decisions still go through a the founder.
Q: How many people are in your business?
A: Mostly myself working full time, with an advisory board, some interns, volunteers, and subcontractors. We're more than 1 but less than 10m, and we've not officially hired employees yet, but are preparing to.
Q: Will you send us your resume?
A: No! The author's curriculum vitae is available online, and I'm in the business of running a business. It's an inappropriate question.
Q: We need an Interface Analyst who knows SMART on FHIR. Do you know anyone?
A: Yes, we have contacts via the Chicago FHIR Users Group. We're also available to provide FHIR training.
Q: Will you accept Net 30 day payment?
A: While we will begrudgingly accept Net 30, understand that our other clients are paying Net 15. So, if you ask for this term and condition, you're effectively saying "we don't want to be prompt in our payments", which is another way of saying "please consider us lower priority".
Q: How do you invoice?
A: We use an invoicing system called Harvest. After setting up your account, we break down your service requests into an estimate, which we send to you for revision or approvals. Once we agree on an estimate, we convert it into an invoice or series of invoices. We ask for a retainer payment up front, and will move onto other clients if payment is late.
Q: Can we get an account manager?
A: Yes, with an Enterprise license.
